Actually, I am the actual type designer, and share the royalties with myself. 
It would be nice if Google paid royalties, too, as well as fee.
While still providing the fonts libre.
They could certainly figure out how to do that, and are extremely rich enough to afford something. Why not?

I would settle for a 0.0001 cent royalty on each view of my fonts served by Google Fonts. They have the analytics.

Since Slabo is the default font for Google’s Adsense text ads (that’s what it was designed for), that seems about right.

I have a master on type design, and I've being working from 2015 making typefaces. I've being Project Manager at the Studio for two years now.
I don't make half what they offer for the not senior job. 

I live in Chile, if I could manage to be paid £33,540 working from here, I would be so happy. It is not the salary is where you live and how you want to live.

I work with collaborators in various countries around the world, and I always try to pay everyone the same amount—at least proportionally to the overall budget of individual projects—, regardless of where they live. I am aware that this means some people are practically receiving more than others if reckoned in terms of spending power in their local economy, but I figure that what someone receives for the work they do should reflect the value of that work in the market where it is commissioned.
