More importantly, does it allow multiple answers?From Anatomy of Type (the one linked here), “bar” seems to be a generic name for a horizontal part of a letter. It could work well for r in Dax or Ubuntu, not sure if it would ring any bells at all with a Didone though.

Before these posts appeared on this forum I called this part of the 'r' an arm and the point where it joins a shoulder.I will continue to call them that.I think most people with opinions here will continue to use the nomenclature that they are comfortable with, whatever the outcome of this thread.4

The issue is when you have to talk to other designers, especially when you're teaching, and don't want your students stuck on your personal communicative island... What I do with my students is tell them the term I think they should use (and sometimes why) but also what other designers might call it.1 -
