You make a good argument. :-) If there are commonly-used apps which have no glyph palette and all you have is charmap, then yes, shake your fist, curse all software, and encode everything in PUA.2 -

In glyphsApp you would not make the make feature manually. You define anchors in each glyph and those will be interpolated for the instances. And from the anchors – on export – the mark feature is ge…1 -
