Why don't you try Fontlab 8 forum (https://forum.fontlab.com/fontlab-8/) to expose your problem. The staff is eager to answer and, after all, they are the authors of the software.
FontLab 8 has many useful functions. I consider "Slanter" to be fundamentally important for the type design of italic fonts. That's why I don't understand why it hasn't yet been integrated in FontLab 8. Glyphs at least has Cursify.
I'm pretty much at a dead-end in Fontlab 8 with a stroke-based (think vector font inspired) design that I wanted to export as a variable font. It is hard to make money in type, especially as a beginner. I don’t think you are wrong about that. There are lots of courses worth considering these days, including remote/online live ones (meeting once or twice a week for many weeks) as well as intensive in-person ones (lasting two or three weeks) and longer more…
Thanks Raphael, a good point! Another thing that the creators mentioned is only 8 promo images. Since the Gumroad product limit is 16 GB, there is no reason not to have 15 images available. It's hard to present the full family with 8 images. Also the lack of licensing options. Hopefully, Gumroad will see potential in this…

I recieved this request from a client "Note this will require the font file contain a ‘cmap’ table that supports 32-bit codepoints (formats 8, 10, 12, 13 or 14)." I've never recieved a request like this so any guidance would be appreciated.
To me, the 5 and 6 look very much the same at the top, and also the same at the bottom, but I'm less sure. With the 8 and the 0, at first the 8 looked bigger, and later, the 0 looked bigger.
