making a stroke-based font in fontlab 8, need tips on efficiently flattening

I'm pretty much at a dead-end in Fontlab 8 with a stroke-based (think vector font inspired) design that I wanted to export as a variable font.
The short of it is I'm getting artifacts on certain glyphs with the interpolation and it can't even properly export this stroke-based font, it just ignores the stroke-path and wants to fill in the "empty" holes of the open paths.
So, I'm gonna have to "solidify' everything. Is there a mass way to do this or do I need to dive into each glyph and setup my shortcut keys to get this done as quick as possible?
