Hi everyone,
I'm happy to announce that Google Fonts is now offering my Ysabeau family.
Ysabeau strives to bring you the familiar shapes and comfortable proportions of Garamond through the medium of a clean contemporary sans. Try it on your e-reader and never look back!
For those interested, the most up-to-date desktop version and the source files will always be available from the GitHub repository.
Thanks to everyone who helped me during the seven years of development, and thanks to Google Fonts for sponsoring said development.
Cheers, Christian

  • Congrats! I hope it gets used as much as Cormorant, or more of course :)

@Christian Thalmann can you comment on the differences between Ysabeau and Ysabeau Office? I note the design variation in the italics, but am wondering if the "Office" designation also means there are behind-the-scenes code changes designed to make it play nice with Microsoft Office? Or perhaps "office" is meant generically, to mean "a version better suited for bidness"?
  • Hi Marc, the Office cut doesn't refer to MS Office so much as actual offices in that it presents a somewhat more sober, more conventional face than the default cut, as might be desirable for «workhorse» use. (Lining figures instead of the very short Garamond-style figures, no swashy Q, no tilted hyphen.)
