I have created a font for signwriting:
https://github.com/yairc2223/swfontdev/blob/066fcff36b5d9c5765ba0839d318d445be9c3e6c/yairsw2.ttf
it works well on volt but doesn't work on the following HTML:
https://github.com/yairc2223/swfontdev/blob/066fcff36b5d9c5765ba0839d318d445be9c3e6c/index1.html
https://github.com/yairc2223/swfontdev/blob/066fcff36b5d9c5765ba0839d318d445be9c3e6c/yairsw2.ttf
it works well on volt but doesn't work on the following HTML:
https://github.com/yairc2223/swfontdev/blob/066fcff36b5d9c5765ba0839d318d445be9c3e6c/index1.html

Your font seems to work in Harfbuzz, although I can't completely tell because I'm not sure what output you expect. In the "boxes should disappear" example, I see SW A S20310 SW M turns into .null S20310 .null, which I guess is the boxes disappearing? What is the contextual positioning rule that isn't working for you - what input are you giving and what output do you expect? (Incidentally I've never seen a font with spaces in the glyph names before; that shouldn't be a problem, but it's certainly unusual.)
Can I recommend using the Crowbar debugger for troubleshooting OpenType layout problems?0 -
