Monotype's new Web Fonts API

Monotype today announced a new Web Fonts API with this nice table positioning it as a direct competitor to Google Fonts, with premium quality fonts and large families as the top 2 differentiators, and marketed to ad platforms:

It does say "Free Google Fonts" so that would be kind of redundant. At least there's no "You'll be secretly tracked for potentially vaguely misunderstood purposes" column to win over the tin foil hat brigade. ;-)0

Google Fonts tracks very little, and what is tracked is publicly available in the GF directory Analytics page and the BigQuery fonts database; also the GF fonts can be self hosted by the truly paranoid.
