    I notice the type designer posting just reads "type designer" and not "senior type designer" and calls for just 2+ years of experience. Perhaps they reworked it.

    That looks like the same job they were hiring for a 1-year contract recently, but it's not a one-year contract position any more! That would certainly make it more attractive.
