I am trying to identify a Didone type that appears in a series of pre-1850s books printed in Paris. After examining the type I think someone modified an existing Didot to make it a display face. You can see one of the books at: http://digi.ub.uni-heidelberg.de/diglit/bourgey1832bd1_1/0151?sid=f299654410d58d1c7338a5bf18c59014

Jean François Porchez recognized this as being from the foundry of Jules Didot.
