Bright Grotesk Geo: Hello Again!
Hi everyone!
This is actually my first post here, although I’ve been lurking around TypeDrawers for quite some time. It’s really nice to see some familiar names still active in the community, especially those I remember from the good old Typophile days!
After a rather long hiatus from designing type, I’ve recently found myself getting back into it, revisiting some of my older work and slowly rediscovering the joy of drawing letters.
One of those projects is Bright Grotesk Geo, a geometric interpretation of my original Bright Grotesk.
I’ve always had a soft spot for geometric typefaces with clean, predictable forms, so I wanted to explore what Bright Grotesk could become with a more deliberate geometric approach. I revisited the letterforms, refined their construction, and spent quite a bit of time working on spacing and consistency.
The family includes 16 static styles (8 weights with matching italics), along with upright and italic variable fonts spanning weights from 100 to 800.
I’ve also put together an interactive specimen on my website if you’d like to have a look:

It’s been a while since I’ve shared any type work publicly, so I’m looking forward to reconnecting with the community and hopefully getting back into drawing more type.
Would love to hear your thoughts and feedback. And to those who were around during the Typophile days, it’s great to see you again!
Cheers,
Andrew
