Is there a reason why there is no general discussion category? I have questions etc, and often cannot fit them into the existing categories...

To keep people from posting general typography questions, font ID requests, links to other sites, etc.0

Ok, so what are my options?0

Find a spot that fits.0

Easier said than done, one of my questions involved both lettering and type, there is no clear place to discuss both at once, for example.0

Technique and Theory?0

Yeah I'll probably end up posting in the lettering one, but still annoying more having a more generic place to post topics. One of the few places I go on typophile is the general discussion, mostly because ti's a mixed bag of conversation.0

Yeah I get that, and mostly agree. And the focus of this forum is partly it's strength, i don't want to take that away.0

I'd rather keep to the point here, and leave "What are you reading or listening to?", as well as lists of all kinds and general discussions to other boards.3

Just post it under "Hinting"
