The Mell font family

Mell Sans is the first release from the Mell Extended family, which will feature five more families --- Mono, Display, Constrast and Slab.

I've been working on this project for a long time. In fact, I asked for critique on this same forum some 7 years ago. But since then I drifted in many different directions --- I liked the faux-monospaced signage look, I like the humanistic playful look too, I also thought it looked really good in reverse contrast. It seems that only the peculiar raindrop-like shape of b and d remained from that version.
Then an idea came two years ago --- to create not one, but several different families for each look, and bind them all into one extended family.
Then, slightly later, I got another idea --- to merge all these families into one variable font.
These projects are largely a reality now, so I decided to start releasing my work, starting with Mell Sans --- which is a very legible sans-serif font with a distinct look. I use it on my website and I frequently get comments on how unique it looks. And it looks even better in print.
