Multiple Unicode-Range Export (Webfont)

Hi, I'm considering splitting a CJK font in more digestible bite-sizes for webfont purposes in a similar way Noto does, using unicode-range feature.
For reference, here is an example of Noto Sans JP split in 120 woff2 of about 60kb each.
https://fonts.googleapis.com/css2?family=Noto+Sans+JP:wght@100..900&family=swap
What's the best way to export the font like this?

Not addressing your immediate question, but this is a technology you might want to keep an eye on: Incremental Font Transfer.1

If you're comfortable with the command line, you can use a tool like fonttools pyftsubset. See https://fonttools.readthedocs.io/en/latest/subset/index.htmlHarfbuzz also has a command line tool that does the same and is faster.0

This is amazing news for all the CJK culture, it doesn't seem to require much time to be standarized, hope the production of the files is streamlined. Will follow it for sure, thanks!John Hudson said:Not addressing your immediate question, but this is a technology you might want to keep an eye on: Incremental Font Transfer.0 -
I guess this is the only way, I'll have to give it a go, thanks!Denis Moyogo Jacquerye said:Type your commentIf you're comfortable with the command line, you can use a tool like fonttools pyftsubset.
