Serration effect to plain font...

Hello,
I have plain edged font already designed. I want to add Serration edged effect to all glyphs in one go. Manipulating all glyphs and achieve smooth Serration effect is very hectic and time consuming. I am using FL8.
Can you please tell me all possibilities and step by step procedure to achieve this effect either it is by python coding or adding a special character like _cap.name in glyphs to add serifs?
Also can you please tell me how to write a code for the same effect. I am attaching the SS for ref. I have manipulated this 3 character manually then also it has flaws at junctions of H.

Thank you.

Skin Filter is the tool you need to do this in FontLab 8.
Basically, you define a pattern (in this case, a triangle with rounded corners) and apply it to the contour. It's quite powerful and also a non-destructive effect —this is, you can change it or simply remove it anytime and all the glyphs will reflect the change. The actual contours are preserved.
You can see how it works here:
