Releases do not show up in «Recent Discussions» or «All Categories»

The title says it all... I noticed the problem back when I released my most recent font, Maestrale.
Any idea why that's the case? Is that a deliberate design choice on behalf of the boards?

If I remember correctly this is a deliberate choice. And for the better, in my opinion.2

Some users complained about new font postings, which are usually just marketing copy, cluttering the timeline. Since almost all users are type designers, and we all see new releases on Twitter and such anyway, I removed the releases category from Recent Discussions and All Categories. The point of the release category is just to provide a place for news sites to scrape from, much like the release forum on Typophile had become.1
