Arabic test document

Hello there, I wonderer if any of you guys could help me please? I am testing my typeface, i've acquired indesign, test documents for Latin and Greek, but I am unable to find anything for testing Arabic text other than newspaper articles (hence my post) if anyone has a document they could share or indeed knows of anywhere I could find something that would be super helpful. Many thanks

Congratulations for making Arabic Fonts.

To test All the Arabic characters & marks, I do recommend making use of the text of the 29th verse of chapter 48 of the Glorious Quran that is easily accessible through Telegram https://Telegram.org by going to http://T.me/QuranMyBot and typing /quran 48:29 .

2. Why not expand your Arabic font to include Jawi & Pegon scripts?

You can also find the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in various languages at <https://www.unicode.org/udhr/translations.html>. You can enter "Arab" in the search box, that will limit the list (mostly) to those languages written in the Arabic script.

To expand to what @AzizMostafa AzizAli posted above, you generally want to make sure you're testing regular text and vocalized text (meaning, all marks included). While most regular texts contain only some vocalization where necessary, the Quran can often be found readily vocalized, which will give you many base to mark combinations and mark to mark combinations that you'd otherwise not encounter in regular text.

It's also quite common to have each letter as a combo (where applicable) of initial, medial and final form, and after space in isolated form where encoded.

I've yet to find some standardized text for common kerning pairs; I suppose it depends even more on the design that with Latin. Here too it's usually the marks that collide.
