Rendering of accent components in variable fonts on Mac OS

Has anyone else noticed that Mac OS renders accents that are components in variable fonts lighter than they should be? An example follows. Eacute is built of E+acutecomb.case, and acutecomb.case is a component of gravecomb.case. The weight difference decreases as size increases until the weight is the same at 126px.

Possibly what's happened is that because the path of the grave has been mirrored to get the acute, the path direction has been reversed. A path going the wrong direction can affect weight with some renderers.6

Thanks Mark! I forgot to break down my accents for variable fonts.0
