Felt tip marker plugin needed for Illustrator

I have a client who needs an expansion of a family of felt-tip marker handwriting fonts. Normally I would just get a marker, draw on paper, and autotrace to create a font like this. But since I need to match the existing design that could end up wasting a lot of time trying markers, paper, and software settings. I need a plugin similar to any old roughen filter, but that creates both straight and curved paths. Is there a good commercial Illustrator for this?

You could copy parts of existing characters to make new ones. I've used this technique and it can work with a little imagination and creativity. Kind of depends on the existing characters and what you have to add.1

Thanks for the tip, Mark. I hadn't thought of that, and it should give me plenty of straights and curves.1
