Pressing Punches

I am looking for information on using an arbor press to press the punch into the matrix as opposed to hammering it. How many tons of pressure are required, and does it change for point size? Any pointers to further information?

    It does depend indeed on the point size. I don't think anyone has really measured the pressure per point size, it's more a matter of trial error. A medium size arbor press should work.
