His account at http://www.impallari.com seems to be suspended.
And I now notice that he's not been active for a while on TypeDrawers. Is he okay? Anybody know what's happened?

I was in touch with him in early December. He retweeted something last week. Let me point him here.0

Hey yes, I need to pay the hosting bill, nothing complex. I've been in holiday-mode for a full year so I didn't cared very much. But hopefully I'll get back to working-mode tomorrow or so (after the hangover... today is carnival in here) and get the house in order, star replying a gazillion emails, etc etc...
In the meantime you can download the source from Github and upload to any folder in your own hosting. I'm not sure but I think that the testing page needs zero configuration, so it should be easy to get it going.
Thanks Hrant for the ping in twitter

Aha! That's what happened. Glad it will be back soon!
Until then, Cyreal has a site based on Pablo's code, so if you don’t want to create something yourself:Although these other sites may not be as awesome/useful, here are some other online font test sites:5 -
Glad to know that Pablo himself is okay!

Ah, good. It was a bit alarming when I noticed yesterday. Hope you had a good time off, Pablo!2

Good to know Pablo is okay. Now if we can only find out what happened with Monika Bartels. I was beginning to think that alien abductors may be targeting the type design community.1

Even aliens know better.1

Welcome back Pablo!!0

Even aliens know better.Type designers are delicious!3

How does Ray know? Some questions are better not asked. But if you ever wondered why so many Japanese type designers seem to be missing fingers....5
-
according to Twitter news today, Monika joined AlphabetType1
-
-
That means one less choice to out-source a hinter...0
-
Hrant, I think it's more like instead of hiring FontWerk, one would hire Alphabet for the same work?
Glad she's found again as we had chatted in the past and I planned on getting her help with TT hinting.1 -
@Michael Jarboe True, but that's assuming Alphabet agrees to take on the given project, plus it would probably cost more. And what if you want Bartels but they only offer Bonk? That said, good for them both!0
-
I would expect that font engineers from the same company work according to the same standards, so the choice of person should not matter3

Hello typedrawers!
@PabloImpallari Nice to hear that Pablo will be online again! In the meantime, is there another website or Github to calculate the family stems?

If you are using Glyphs, there is a script called Insert Instances to calculate stem widths according to different algorithms that might be helpful until the site comes back.0

I have a spreadsheet that calculates all the different progressions (Linear, Lee, Impallari, and Lucas), if you’re interested. You tell it how many instances/variants you want, what the min & max stem thicknesses should be, and it adjusts the ranges accordingly.0

Impallari site is back up and running now.1

Alternatively you can host the code yourself:

Could that be made available in a GitHub page?0

This would make a good mystery, but I'd change the name to "Pablo Impallari's Type Testing Site is Missing".1
