For the next two weeks DTL CompareMaster for macOS (download [13 MB]) and Windows (download [6 MB]) will be available for free!



DTL CompareMaster is a tool for comparing the outline, metrics, and hinting information between OpenType CFF fonts (the PostScript Type1 format is also supported still). This way different fonts and different versions of the same fonts can be compared. Output options include PostScript plot files and extensive or summarized listings in text format.

In only five installers of DTL CompareMaster there is a hidden ‘Golden Type Ticket’ PDF. Hi Peter, as such I would love to enhance CompareMaster but this is mainly a matter of resources and priorities. If everything goes according to plan, FoundryMaster (the successor of FontMaster) will be released at the TYPO Labs 2017 conference. And hopefully there will be a new version of OTM later in 2017. But if there is an opportunity, we (URW++ and DTL) will enhance CompareMaster too.
