Introducing Typekit Marketplace

Hi everybody. I head up the Type and Typekit teams at Adobe.

I wanted to share with you some news. Today, we're launching Typekit Marketplace, which augments the Typekit subscription library with thousands more fonts available for purchase.

Later today, I'll also be posting some thoughts about what this launch means for Adobe's role in the type industry.

Yes, the open API is a Very Big Deal! The range of possibilities is huge. Google could enable Docs users to use their (the users') Typekit web fonts in Docs, for example.

Then again, the Typekit Marketplace is a very well thought out venture as well. Permanent web + desktop fonts, all under a single standard license, from many partner foundries.
