TrueType copyright notices in Windows

In ancient times, you could double-click a TTF in Windows and see the version number and copyright notice in the preview. With Windows Vista and later it only shows the version number like this:
If you right click/properties/details you can see the copyright message but it's truncated to about 40 characters.
Is it possible for Windows users to view the full copyright message without 3rd party font management software? Was a 40 character limit part of the TT spec all along?

Hi Ray,
try this: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/Typography/TrueTypeProperty21.aspx
To use in 64 bit systems You will need this too: https://www.dropbox.com/s/o0r41zrwhwfcfqc/OpenType Font Properties Extension x64.zip

Not entirely related to what you asked but I'm wondering, is there a way to remove uncessary glyphs so it doesn't show up in the windows font viewer? Also is there a way to change the pangram?0

the font viewer has an "Advanced" menu that lets you select unicode ranges and subranges.1

Here's the instructions:
1) cut and paste the TTFExtNT.dll file into c:\windows\system32 (yes, I know this seems counterintuitive to put a 64 bit dll into the system32 folder but it's correct.)
2) You next need to register the dll using regsvr32 (hadn't used regsvr32 in near twenty years, a nostalgia trip). To do so, you need to open up a command prompt window in Administrator mode.
Easiest way for the novice - find the command window icon in Windows Accessories and right click it - a menu item to open as Administrator will be revealed. Click it.
In the command window that opens, type:
c:\windows\system32\regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\ttfextnt.dll
You should get a window saying the registration was successful.
It should be usable right away - right click on a font and see.
No reboot should be necessary.1 -
Thank You Richard,
I was about to reply to you.
I forgot to put the instructions.0
