I’m advertising a newly completed design for corporate exclusivity (i.e. looking for a single purchaser), in this month’s Eye magazine.
Another tactic: a limited edition with the price rising as it sells out:

This group is releasing all of their typefaces as finite editions as well: http://mediumextrabold.com

The idea of bespoke files/limited availability isn't bad, but making it a digital file makes the idea void. We'll need self-destructing font files now! Or every copy getting more corrupted, now that would be something.0

Good luck pitching your face, Nick. That's an interesting approach. I'd love to know how it pans out.
Jack, I didn't realize mediumextrabold was doing that. Not sure I get the point of doing that for your whole library. I'm assuming all these people have other sources of income. Seems a little precious. And as a user of other people's type, it leaves me pretty cold.
Arthur, William Gibson published a fine-press limited edition of a poem back in 1992 on a lavishly presented floppy disk, which erased itself as you scrolled through it.

The Book of Poems
You start with the bookand a matchon a pitch black night.
You light the match to read the first pageThen light the first page to read the secondAnd so on.
You end with no matchNo bookBut a head full of poems.10 -
I love that poem, Nick. Is it yours?0

Thanks, yes. I used to write a lot of poetry when I was a teenager (this one dates from 1970), but it dried up when I went to art school. This is the only one I can remember.2
