Thanks for the update Mike. Can you tell us if the new version is backward compatible or can you not open files containing VTT code from the previous version?
Has anybody else had problems with viewing fonts after installing this? As in, just opening them in Explorer. I keep getting told that every font (no exaggeration) is invalid, whether ttf or otf. Command-line works a bit differently; "start pala.ttf" tells me that it's not a valid font, but calling fontview directly works just fine, whether have System32 or SysWOW64 first in the path (or by calling them with path name). I've tried hacking the registry, but it won't retain the changes.
This issue also affects ps-flavored OT, so I doubt that VTT is the culprit. Still... maybe it's something, maybe somebody will have a solution, yadda yadda. Prolly have to restore a ghost image.
I am not sure this has anything to do with VTT, but if you think it does, you can follow up with me mikedu at microsoft.com, with as many details as you can to describe the issue. thanks Mike

to follow up on the release, I will be doing a workshop at Atypi, showing the new hinting features and techniques in the latest VTT.
