Dear Friends,
Adobe Arabic was well-done by http://www.Tiro.com for Arabic & the South-East Asia Arabic-based scripts: Jawi & Pegon.  However, the 3/4 Hamza for Jawi (Top & middle images) and the under-dotted Kaf (bottom image) for Pegon had been overlooked, either intentionally or unknowingly. That's right, Arabic Hamza & dots are unique & dynamic.

So far, https://Maryamsoft.com is the only company that has taken the dynamic Hamza & dots into account as elaborated by the attached file (QB-English.pdf)
Looking forward to expanding Adobe Arabic & all the coming Arabic fonts to cover both Jawi & Pegon scripts.
Many Thanks & Best Regards for All with Flowers

  • Are those two encoded glyphs with distinct unicodes or what character context do they appear in?

    Besides I feel your patronizing and petty tone and the constant name dropping really make it hard to take any of your posts serious. That is a shame, truly, since you seem both knowledgeable and passionate about Arabic typography.

    To be fair, I think he's just learnt that if he wants to advertise his commercial fonts he has to do so in a way that looks a bit like a discussion topic.

    Well, here is a summary of my long discussion with Dr. Michael Wayne Goodman, the owner of http://goodmami.org/rumi-jawi-web/index.html that says:
    Jawi is an Arabic script, but it uses characters not present in the Arabic language, so it is important to choose a font containing glyphs for these characters. This site uses Google's Noto Naskh Arabic font https://www.google.com/get/noto/#naskh-arab as it contains these glyphs and is a neutral typeface without many embellishments.

    Say: That's not 100% true! When it comes to Jawi, the position of the character "Hamzah" goes up to 3/4 if followed by waw, ya or Noon. For example, the following words;

    Naik, Laut, Daun, Audit, Air, Bacaan & Kekayaan should be consecutively transcribed into

    نا۶يق لا۶وت، دا۶ون، ا۶وديت، ا۶ير، باچا۶ن، ککايا۶ن

    Whereas through Goodmami convertor, they are consecutively transcribed into:

    ناءيق، لاءوت، داءون، اءوديت، اءير، باچاءن، ککاياءن

    So, in place of Noto Naskh Arabic font, I do recommend using Jawi Uthman Taha font https://www.free-fonts.com/jawi-uthman-taha .
    Looking forward to making use of the right font in the right place.
