I use a tiny Microsoft mobile mouse. It fits in the palm of my hand and I can move it with two fingers, no hand movement needed.3 -

Duplicating glyphs is not a good idea as it just increases file size and makes kerning more work (keeping classes in sync). In Glyphs, you just delete the lowercase and run Glyph > Update Glyph In…7 -

Have you checked all masters. Maybe the sCapHeight was synced between them?1
