That tiny beard on /G is at a scale matched by nothing else in the font, so I would scrap it. Could closing the aperture a bit solve the mismatch without (or in addition to) narrowing the form?2 -

To me “semi” or “demi” doesn’t mean “a little lighter than...”, it means “partway between Regular and...” So if you’re going to have a semi-light I’d expect it to be heavier than Light; and “semi-med…10 -
Re: Oldstyle numbers by default?
What font editor are you using? In the ones I've worked in, you can just draw oldstyle glyphs in the /one, /two, /three, etc. slots, then furnish lining figures with the appropriate suffixes.3
