Agreed, the triangular shape was worth a shot, but turned out too funky. Option 1 looks nice and balanced. I'm only triggered by its lightness, but maybe it's fine in context and in smaller sizes.1 -

I think a crossed 7 is a very European thing. I was always thinking of making a handwriting font with locl for every language: r, 7, 1, z, etc., or maybe even swapping the whole alphabet for one base…1
