  Google Fonts doesn't change anything about the family name. The filename pattern GF uses includes a list of axes.

  Aha, ok... Isn't a pity to not publish them as a learning resource, since there are so few MetaFonts? :) Will you use the SIL Open Font License?

  I've seen issues with fonts with a number as the first char, since I thought it would be smart to prepend a timestamp string.
