Where does MacOS store Apple’s downloadable fonts?

Apple distributes fonts with MacOS and iOS that aren’t preinstalled but appear in Font Book but can be activated and downloaded. Where are these fonts stored after being downloaded? I ask because one of my designs is on the list and I want to open the file and see if they changed anything.

The downloaded fonts are stored in the following location (macOS Tahoe):
/System/Library/AssetsV2/com_apple_MobileAsset_Font8
The location differs between macOS versions, so depending on your current install it could also be:/System/Library/AssetsV2/com_apple_MobileAsset_Font7 (macOS Sequoia/Sonoma/Ventura)
