Dramatic increase in Desktop prices on MyFonts

Prepping for my talk today so I checked in on tiers and multipliers on MyFonts. Web pricing remains as in 2024 but the Desktop licenses have dramatically increased since Dec 2024. Look at the 30 users multiplier:

A $100 font family that used to cost $460 for 30 users, now costs $1650. As far as I can see this is for most fonts on MyFonts.

This is interesting to keep track of!

Funny. The third and fourth user each cost more extra than the second.

Does Monotype now require all foundries to use this table or is it just recommended based on their own pricing?

Foundries set their own base prices for single fonts, or font packages. Monotype applies its standard multipliers to the base prices. This is how Type Network does it, too, although they have a different calculation for its multipliers.

    Indeed. With a much simpler set of tiers — e.g., 5 users, 10 users, 25, 50, etc.
And a much lower range. For example, 6–10 users = 2.5× (compared with 4.20–6.00× for MT).
TN doesn’t really spell this out anywhere like the page linked above (which is a missed opportunity, imo). You have to deduce it from the cart mechanism.
