Software tariffs

Perhaps I shouldn’t mention this, but I do wonder how a tariff might be applied to the purchase of a font licence from another country.

    I don’t know how it MIGHT be, but I understand that the current US tariff regime is all about physical goods, not services or digital goods.

    I think its REALLY hard to enforce, so they won't ever even try - whereas physical goods come through ports so are easier for customs departments to tax – although smuggling is an old word indeed, hehe :)

    Plus the USA is a huge net exporter of services, inversely to its net importation of goods.

    In the USA our federal government is loathe to tax internet transactions.
