Newsletter tools?

We have been trying to do one every month for a little while.  Before that we only sent out emails when we had something to announce.  I think the main argument for doing a regular thing is that it helps build up a readership for when you do have those announcements - but I can't prove it yet.  It think it's also potentially useful for establishing good will. 

We try to keep ours intimate, we give advice about using fonts, share glimpses at custom projects that aren't high profile enough for social media but still interesting, first looks at fonts sooner than we'd put them on social, etc.  Personally, I don't like the newsletters that feel like journal entries because they lack focus.  We try to keep ours short and to one topic at a time.  But that's definitely a matter of personal taste.

Our open rates have always been are very good but we don't see obvious conversions from the emails, even when they were for announcements of products.  That probably just proves that fonts are not an impulse buy, but regardless, it means that it's hard to show direct value for effort.  I'd be curious if others have similar non-data?

we us campaign monitor.  It's fine.  No matter what service, we're going to make our own templates and our own fonts cause that's how we are – so it's all kinda the same to us.
