Looks kinda fun, good for students. I have an old deck of WWII plane spotter cards that work similar to this, it's quite a good method of learning a bunch of random facts about a topic in no time!

I prefer the term “aficionado” to “nerd”.
But in this case, perhaps “dilettante” would be more appropriate.
Although, of course, “nerd” is easier to spell.4 -

I used "nerd" as a term of endearment - Aussie humour tends to be self deprecating, and it gets lost in translation sometimes
