Chromatic Opentype Fonts and Browsers

What is the current state of, and/or plan for, browser support of the new chromatic font options added to OpenType 1.7? The latest information I found is from last year, which seems to be:
• Windows 8.1 and up support COLR/CPAL via DirectWrite. IE and Chrome support this.
• Firefox supports SVG
• Safari and Android support Apple and Google’s PNG formats if the fonts are installed locally. 

Have things changed since then? Are the browser makers going to collaborate to support all or one of the three formats in OpenType so that users and font vendors don’t have to deal with three formats supported differently in different browsers?

    Firefox supports SVG and COLR/CPAL on all platforms. I don't think Chrome supports any (except may be on Android).

    Chrome is a single codebase; what makes the difference is the use of proprietary platform APIs.

    Does that mean Chrome for Mac and Linux will support COLR/CPAL and/or SVG when those platforms support them?
