Does VTT display the hints in a hinted font?

I know that VTT won’t let me edit hints already in a font. But if I just open a hinted font and look at the glyphs does VTT render the font as it is hinted? Or does it show the font as it would appear with no hinting?

VTT preview will show the compiled hinting, which means you can apply options to review different kinds of rendering.1

Note: if you want to check hinting for lower resolutions, it really helps to be looking at VTT on a lower resolution monitor. On a 5K screen, the smaller ppem sizes are too tiny to be properly reviewed. You can scale the resolution in VTT, of course, but then you're not seeing device ppem rendering.1
