FL: assinging a keystroke to a specific command

I need to select an entire path from a glyph. The “Select Contour” seems to be only accessible via ctrl-context menu, not via the menu bar or any tool palette. It is hidden in the deepness of a sub-popup and the handling is desperately cumbersome.
Because I need to perform this selection task frequently I want to assign a keystroke. I did 1st assign alt-S and then, 2nd go, alt-Y.
When I press this combination sometimes the wrong contour was selected. And FL freezes again and again.
Has anyone a trick for this?
Thanks in advance.

1. Edit Tool (arrow) is active. 2. Ctrl + <click near contour>.

2. Ctrl + <click near contour>.
Command key on Mac. Turns Edit tool temporarily to “magic wand.” Click to select most proximate contour.

It seems I lost something here as I don't see a Select Contour anywhere in FontLab contextual menus. Anyway, a contour can also be selected by a double-click, both in Windows and Mac, when Edit tool is active (or with any tool while holding Ctrl/Cmd).
