It would be of great help if users could test font products directly on the Gumroad page, like seen on any specialized font store. So they could type a custom text previewed in that particular font, try different weight, style, text size.
Many independent font foundires use Gumroad as a convienient external e-commerce option, and having this feature would bring many more. Indipendent type design community is actively looking for new possibilites since the classic font selling (by big 3rd party stores) is in crisis, and this would be a great support for small independent creators all around the world. Thanks!
This is a very good idea. In addition, it would be good to increase the limit of posters.
Thanks for supporting the feature. Agree about the posters, it’s hard indeed to showcase the font family with 8 images.
This would be a super cool thing, a lot of us is selling fonts here and the testing feature would be a dream come true!
Wonderfull
I usually put an additional link in the description for potential buyers to test the fonts and this feature would be very helpful for font sellers to make it more efficient.
God, please make it happen !
@Rayvaldo.rizki @Jada Akbal @Silver Stag So glad to see your comments and support. As you can see we are in the top ten requests just after a few days. Please spread the news among your channels, if each supporter bring one more this will be one success story and a big thing for indie type designers all around the world. Thanks a bunch!
Did they say we’ll get this @Typehand Studio ?
@Typehand Studio @Silver Stag Thanks once again for interest and support. I will try to reach Gumroad directly in the next few days to get their feedback on this request.
@Sahil Lavingia Hi Sahil, can you please give us a few words about “Archived” status. What does it mean? Thanks.
Not going to build this for a while, unfortunately. We have a packed roadmap for the next 6 or so months.
@Sahil Lavingia I understand, thanks. So basically there is no point to start the similar request in the future, right?
Also, if you have time for one more answer it would be very insightful. Is the reason too many other features that are higher priority, or there are potnetial problems or concerns of having the tester on the page, even if you had the solution ready?
The former. It’s a good idea we hope to support eventually. Maybe next year!
Good to know it’s not a completely closed door, and hope it will be an option it the future. Thanks for your reply.
